DC movies aren't "dark," i'd call them "serious." just because the characters don't quip, snark or make jokes throughout the movie doesn't mean the movie is "dark"...

and since Marvel already does the quipping, snarking & jokey characters, i'd rather DC go their own "Watchmen" route. elevating the comic-book superhero movie to something more than summer-blockbuster popcorn fare. it can be done, and has already been done: The Dark Knight (Crime Drama) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Espionage Thriller)...
