in the future, a virtual reality MMO, Yggdrasil is on its last hours of being online, a player character Momonga, decides to wait out the shut-down and decides not to log off. as midnight passes, he is surprised that his guild's world has not started to disappear, all the game functions no longer work and he cannot log off...

for once, a protagonist that isn't handsome...

ever since i'v started playing the Souls series of games, i wasn't really diving in to the lore of the games apart from the main events progressing the games. then i found VaatiVidya,who speculates on the lore of each of the games, often embellishing them with what he believes the narrative should be...
